Our Beginnings

Contact Beacon's humble beginnings!


We created the earliest version of Contact Beacon for internal use in 1998. We were working on HP's partner portal site and were trying to figure how to keep HP’s 14,000 worldwide partners up to date on the latest news from HP. Our “News Alerts”  tool for HP was so popular we began to use it ourselves for all sorts of PR activities, newsletters, event promotions, marketing campaigns, and just for staying in touch with our clients..

We soon realized others could benefit from this easy to use tool, so in 2004 Contact Beacon was born as a SaaS (software as a service) product. Since then, hundreds of individuals and companies have signed up to use Contact Beacon.

As our client base grew and the Internet evolved, we received lots of feedback from users. Starting in 2008, we began to develop the next generation of Contact Beacon based on these great recommendations and ideas from our clients. The goal was to create a tool everyone could use to manage their day-to-day business simply, efficiently, and most importantly... "The way I want to do it!"
